Hibernation season is over,
The caves are yawning and
Children of the winter stumble
Out with wire-thin ankles, skin
As pale as porcelain,

(the saddest part)

morning dew on your lips
lilacs sprouting from our
butterfly palms
memories blooming behind
your eyelids
spring rain kissing my skin
your tongue tied in sonnets

Hibernation season is over,
The earth is yawning and
Winter children flicker, finger-
Tips dripping like a soundless
February morning,

(april is the cruelest month)
