First deer

In the woods in Custer
Resting my gun on a tree
Waiting for a good shot
I fire, but I miss
I wait a minute or two
To get the perfect shot
I fire once again
"She's down!" my dad yells
Trees are in the way
So I don't see her fall
My dad and I drive down to her
I kneel next to my doe
And my dad snaps a picture
My heart races excitedly
I had shot my first deer.
