Abandon Me

Abandon me.

Leave me cold and in the dark,
leave me to wither and shrivel and become small,
leave me to starve and suffer with hunger,
because I am starving for understanding.

If I could feel pain so deeply that it would change me,
maybe I could understand what it means to truly
be
human.

So, abandon me.

Leave me cold and in the dark.

I long for pain.

I long for humanity.

So deep and unforgiving. I like the way this free verse goes. And the effect every single word leaves is huge!

This is very reckless and creepy but GOOD. I think that we all can relate to this at some point in our lives.
