The Black Rose

A red velvet rose blooms on a bush
Two hearts fall in love
The rose is strong and its hue rivals that of a ruby
The love is strong and the bond rivals that of the great steel bars that hold the Golden Gate Bridge firmly above the water below, and all the passengers on it
The rose is beautiful like that of the girl in love
The rose is romantic like that of the boy in love
As months whisper by the rose begins to age
The love is starting to fade away
The rose hue fades away and its strength…fleeting
The love is growing weak and the bond…is like a piece of thread
The rose turns to a grim shade of black
The love dies and they go their separate ways
The rose falls to the ground
Two hearts break
The black rose melts back into the Earth
A new red velvet rose blooms in its place
Two hearts fall in love
