Favorite Quote:
Tell me that it can't be done, and I will do it. Tell me that the goal is too high and I will reach it. Place an obstacle in front of me and I will soar over it. Challenge me, dare me, or even defy me. But do not underestimate me.

I am offering this poem to you,
Since I have nothing else to give.
Keep it like a locket
Around your neck, to remember
When all seems lost
Something to remember when you cannot hear
I love you.
I have nothing else to give
So it is a scrapbook
Full of laughter, when your lungs seem dry
A happy song to think of
When I am gone.
I miss you.
Keep it, treasure it as you would
If I were dead, camouflage clad, in a casket
Draped in the nation's colors
Weeping as you stand, clutching
Our Child's hand, who in turn
Clutches his teddy bear
Who dangles lifelessly
With a fake gleam in his eye
Let it be known
I protect you.
So I'll see you tonight
Or tomorrow, maybe years from now,
My strong army wife, when you pass
I shall watch our child grow,
And watch you age,
But beautiful you remain.
I adore you.

This was an assignment for English class. We read a poem by Jimmy Santaigo Baca. The assignment was to write our own version of the poem but keep the first 2 lines and a half, to start the poem off. My teacher told me that this poem was super and that I should submit it.
