“O! for a muse of fire, that would ascend the brightest heaven of invention.”
-William Shakespeare.

Soaking wet
Dry like a desert
Heavy as steel
Light as a feather
Fine as a fingerprint
Rough as sand
Frightening as the creature under your bed
But, welcoming as Gabriel’s sweet melody

You know it as silence
As a whisper in the wind
The chills down your back
The breath on your neck

It can be loud as thunder
A trumpeting call
It will lure you in
No matter if you run
Or embrace its own
Dark
Cloaked
Shadowy
Arms
It is

Death
