all the days spent alone
quivering in the damp winter breeze
are given purpose by a single
long sought-after dream
that one can succeed
in this world without love
prospering in the midst
of all the hate
because through the doubt
the regret, the envy
no soul shall perish
however lost it may be
the darkness will tear
a weakened heart to pieces
clawing with all it's might
but hope can be restored
repair is within sight
despair thrives in the presence
of those who succumb
to its dreary glare, but from the few
who rebel it shall run
