Love.

I remember the first time I saw her face.

I knew from that moment on.

I'd found... not any one person.

Not anything so simple as to define by a medium such as words.

Something that can only be a fraction understood,

Lest you've experienced it for yourself.

I'd found Love.

And now that she's gone...

I miss her.

Like the Sun misses the Moon,

Chasing Her through the infinitely vast heavens

Day after day after day...

And I miss Her.

Like the ocean waves,

Miss the sandy shore.

Never ceasing to grope for the empty grains of its lost Love.

And I miss Her...

Like the Wind misses its one true Love...

Sweeping across every blade of grass,

Soaring through every open window,

And seeping through every crack in every abandoned house,

Searching in its unparalleled desire for...

Love.

So I sit on this front porch,

Knowing it's a lost cause.

But my soul trapped to the very spot,

Where I sat stubbornly --

So hopelessly and uselessly prideful --

And counted every last step you took

Before you passed over the top of the hill,

The sunset silhouetting your dazzling features,

And I lost sight of you forever...

My Love.
