He Dances

He sees me watching him

And smiles
He likes the attention
He leaps up high and glances at me
To see my expression
To see if I’m impressed
I am
In awe, entranced
By his show that he puts on
Encouraged, he begins to dance
Pushing the boundaries
Escaping them
Playful and careless
He flaunts his freedom
Beautiful but dangerous
He flickers and sparks
Reaching out and pulling in
Amazing me with his charm
He cackles and laughs
Jumping out
Trying to catch me off guard
His wild dance comes to an end
And when he’s finished
I introduce myself as “man”
I ask of his name
His reply is “Fire”
