I remember trail rides
on hot summer days
where the branches give shade
to passer underneath

My horse and i
admiring nature, follow
the horse in front,
marching in a line

Weaving between branches,
following the beaten
down path, listening
to the rhythmic hoof beats.

I remember trail rides,
symbolizing pleasure
and freedom.

The author's comments:
In the winter, one starts to miss the warmth of summer. Riding horses in the deep snow in the mountains becomes more difficult. So, one cold winter day, i wrote down what i experienced one simple day trail riding. It made me appreciate what i once took for granted.
