Questions

I have questions, questions, questions…
Do you know the answer?
It doesn’t matter if you do,
I know you can give one, whether false or true.
I’ll answer myself, and drop the key
To a lock I’ve not yet claimed to see.
“Do you still love me?”
I’ll answer you,
Something that you never do.
All I can say is, “Of course I do,”
You heard my voice saying “I do love you.”
I miss that question, I swear it’s true.
I miss when I mattered a little to you.
Now you don’t ask me anything new,
And I’m cut off from all care that grew.
I’m talking with myself, alone
But my replies are better on the phone.
I nod in agreement.
