Haunting

The morning brings the dead to life.
The night acts like day,
The fire shooting out of
The barrel of our guns.

Death lay before my soul,
Death lies before my eyes,
Death dances before and after my life.

Buzzing sounds ring in my ear
As the planes fly above in the
Twinkling night.

A fire blazes upon the stars.
The remnants fall onto
The sleeping bodies of my
Fellow soldiers.

Screams of terror haunts my ears,
Death lay before my soul.
The fallen lives are living within my heart.

Death may lie before my soul,
Death may run in my body,
Death may lie within my pain.

Death may lie in front of my soul.
But my spirit lingers in
Your memories of me.
