First Grade Recess MAG
A symphony of lunchroom gibberish
pounded my head
As I waited for the outdoor liberation.
And then little seven-year-old me would drink in the scorching sun and sticky mist.
I watched the kids who seemed so big
back then, never knowing what they
were doing,
before the message sounded
to go back to the land of air conditioning,
to hear science facts
that I already knew.
