I sat
sulking
drowning in the feeling of being alone
bawling because I had no one
to share a kiss
in this moment with

I counted down to when the tears would fall
as the clock strikes twelve
my throat closes
holding back the sobs
of sorrow that my loneliness influenced

So I sit
alone
barring the weight
of welcoming in a new year
without you, my love

I wrote this after feeling lost and alone on new years eve when I wasnt with my special someone.
