I Heard Love

That night,
It was so dark I could breathe it

And feel it

And hear it
It was like breathing liquid sorrow
Or grasping a broken heart
And it sounded like loneliness,
The deepest isolation
Like being in the darkest part of the ocean
Nothing but water, nothing but black,
Nothing between you and Death

So much
Black
So much
Hurt

I couldn't even see the light when it came,
So deep was the darkness
I thought I was too far gone
But then
I felt
Your hand holding mine
And it was like breathing sunlight
And grasping a hope, however small
And hearing
Love.
