Every day on my feet
In the Southern hot morning
Brightly painted toenails
An ankle bracelet or two
The clacking on the street
I have twenty-two pairs
Still collecting more
Gonna need another closet
Or just steal my mother’s!
Mismatching is fun
“Can I wear this pair?”
“Just for today?”
