War of the Night

NIGHT.

Moon flickers
as wine drifts.
Wind wails
as corners shift.
Shadow scurries
as fabric buries.
Iron gates grit

as unknown sits.

Dark shines
as void grows.
Sharpness sparks
as cotton blows.
Words repel
as hands yearn.
Glass breaks
as fury burns.

Dawn comes
as war reins.
Dreams break
as hope wanes.
Cold lingers
as flame walks ‘way.
Tears cast
as laughter fades.
