Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth. -Oscar Wilde

My mother wants an engineer
My father dreams of sports
Something with money
Something with a promising future
‘You have potential’
They tell me
Use it
Me? I wish for adventure

The paved path of society
Is clear as day
Do your best
Get a job that pays
But I want to play
To fly
To dream on my own
I want journeys to faraway lands
Meeting new people
Seeing new cultures
Understanding new ideas
Learning new languages
Becoming a new me
Someday I may realize these wishes
But for now,
I can only hope
And dream
And wish

It was going to rhyme but I lost interest in that.
