“Perhaps I write for no one. Perhaps for the same person children are writing for when they scrawl their names in the snow.” - Margaret Atwood

Since our vow some years ago
hand in hand we walk,
Death our only enemy
for with it we must part.
My mind and soul have parted,
my body not earthly bound,
But my heart is rendered hopeless,
for true love it has found.
The years we shared were special
the love we shared so true,
Not near enough I told you
Darling, I love you.
Strike your fear I promise
there is a plan yet to reveal,
And up here I shall wait for you,
among the golden fields.

My grandmother and grandfather shared a special, strong, and unique love that is immeasurable. My grandfather passed away a year ago on September 2, 2011. I wrote this for my grandmother this Christmas.
