Running against the rough winds, running against time
Skidding onto asphalt, the burning, stinging
Is it worth it?
Yes!
The glory, the sacrifice
It all came down to this shot
Inch by inch
I step up to the line
I’m shaking from all of the nerves controlling my body
My breath comes dense, thick, and beset with apprehension
Sweat oozes from my face
Pound, Pound, Pound, the ball smashes against the court
Every bounce more resonant than the last
All eyes on me
Perfect step
Perfect aim
Perfect form
Perfect shot
