A life without you,
I could not imagine.
Years spent working hard,
and being damaged by things I could not fathom.
As a child,
Memories of you are distant.
All but one are non-existent.
Walking down the driveway,
In a dress with white flowers, you smiled.
Not knowing who you were in the eyes of a child.
Your mistakes are remembered, but entirely forgiven.
Because I see now, you had gave all you could have given.
I must confess, that words cannot express,
How much I love you and all that you do.
I could not imagine,
A life without you.

The author's comments:
This poem is about the absence of my mother as a child. It affected me greatly, but I understand that it was only because she wanted the best for me, and I forgive her entirely.
