Strength in Her Weary Face
There she sits,
her feet braced on the floor, with one hand resting on her cheek.
Her face looks weary,
as if she has been facing a life-long struggle.
Her eyes are slightly drooped,
as if she is fighting off sleep.
She writes with her pen,
clenched tightly in her hand,
and at a fast pace.
She is concentrating a little too hard on her work,
and doesn’t talk to the people around her.
She looks lonely and sad,
but as if she is writing with a purpose.
In her face though, I see strength,
and I wonder if she will be helping the world someday.
