"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Leaning on my windowsill
The whole world goes suddenly still
The birds stop singing
The bells stop ringing
And I'm screaming loud and shrill.

I'm looking out the window's glass
Watching my time slowly pass
The sky is grey
And I look away
Ash now covers the grass.

I'm smashing out the windowpane
Even though there's pouring rain
I've lost it all
Yet I still fall
Maybe this will end the pain.

This piece came to me as I was looking out the window on a rainy afternoon, and it has a lot of underlying emotion that I think a lot of people can relate to.
