I slipped from his arms;
(She fell from my embrace)
I felt the floor rise up to meet me;
(She drew ever nearer to the floor)
It was the first time anyone had been there to catch me;
(It was too late to stop them from colliding)
My skull met the worn tiles;
(She collapsed against the cold, filthy tiles)
My eyes fluttered,
(I begged her to look at me)
But only sparks danced happily before them.
(I shattered when her hazel eyes stared right through me)
I gazed at the sparks slowly enveloping my vision;
(I closed mine own in terror as her eyes glossed over)
Everything I was conscious of began to fade in the most beautiful way…
(I clutched her desperately as she began to lose consciousness)
I directed my awareness to my chest;
(With my last hope, I pressed my ear to her chest)
I could no longer feel the blood destroying me like it did;
(Her warm heart I fell in love with ceased to beat)
I grew lighter as my torturous mind drifted away;
(She slumped as limp as a rag doll into my lap)
My worries floated away as I fell into this dreamless sleep;
(My nightmares enveloped me as I watched her be consumed by sleep)
I gloriously felt nothing for the first time…
(She took my heart with her that day)
And I never woke up.
