The Window
A starlight smile, and sun kissed hair
A little girl sits, so fragile and fair.
Out the window she looks, day after day
Watching the birds, and the flowers of may
These were the times of the young and the play
Where the girl so sweet had nothing to say
Just a dolly and a window always stay with her
don’t these days fly by in a whirl
A starlight smile and sun kissed hair
The young lady sits, so dainty and fair
Out the window she looks day after day
For her lover to come and take her away
These were the times of roses and love
All of God’s blessings were given from above
Just love notes and a window always stay with her
don’t these days fly by in a whirl.
A starlight smile, and sun kissed hair
A woman sits so tired and fair.
Out the window she looks day after day
watching her sweet son and daughter play
These were the times of hustle and hurry
Where a woman so wise sits in battle with life’s jury
Just books and a window always stay with her
don’t these days fly by in a whirl
A starlight smile and sun kissed hair
A old lady sits so quiet and fair.
Out the window she looks day after day,
Watching the light come closer each day
These were the times of stillness and quiet
Where a woman so old comes closer to night
Nothing now is with her today
But the windows reflection of our lives forever will stay.
