Weeds MAG
Over many unsuspecting weeks spent
staring out the windows
weeds grew like children in the spring
Cascading upon bald patches of frozen soil,
slick with snail slime and rotten leaves – raked free of all life.
Bare and naked,
weeds sprouted.
Slithering up the rough brick walls,
digging their roots into the plaster
and crumbling the weak foundation.
They could not have even guessed,
that one small shake would send the ancient building crumbling.
The weeds launched a phenomenon,
carving deep roots in ivory teeth,
blooming throughout brittle bones.
Flowers sprouted the shocking color
of clotted blood.
