Now, promise me,
That you will stand beside me.
That you will hold me close
when the bitter frost
paints the tips of the green grass white.
When night snakes across the sunny canvas of day.
Promise me that our garden of red roses
Will bloom again in eternitys grasp.
When we fall upon the valleys low,
Or swoop down from the open sky
To drag our fingertips across the surface of the ocean,
Promise that you will stand beside me.
When winter swallows the world whole
In a merciless tornado of snow,
Or when springs vibrant daisies expire,
Promise me that our garden of red roses
Will bloom again in eternitys grasp.
When the wind bears our simple wooden raft,
Heedlessly discarding it into uncharted waters.
When we see that we are coming even closer to the edge of that waterfall,
Promise that you will stand beside me.
When the intimidating thunder BOOMS loud in our ears,
Promise that you will stand beside me.
When the aggressive lightning strikes our heels,
Promise that you will be my shield.
When we must look into the shady face of death,
Hold me tight,
Whisper in my ear,
Tell me,
“I’m right here.”
