I saw it first in a novelty shop
It harkened to those old days where
Things were simple, as somebody who didn’t know
The old days thought.
I certainly didn’t know which was why I wanted to have it. But really, it was more complicated,
Covered with nostalgic dreams
For a better time, like lacquer
On a rather ugly subject,
That has become a still life of fruit for a starving man.
