Why Him?

They were given a warning
but they did not listen
that poor little boy
was left on his own
I should have helped him
for some reason I didnt care
They beat him
They bruised him
and yet I didnt help

To this day I ask myself
why? why didnt I help him
aid him, or even defend him
instead I stood by
and did nothing
and still I think,
why?
