Nightime here in this valley
Not even a shred of light shows through
Goddamn these darkened clouds
They hide the moon from me
The moon in all her beauty and grace
She lights the way for my rain drenched chase
But now I'm stumbling around in the dark
Tripping over gnarled roots
Face down in the mud, I lift my head up
Trade my shoes for boots
Continue to push on
With my eyes set on the sky
I await the moment the clouds part
The moon illuminating my cheeks
And the rocky path before me
Just faint enough to make my way
My way back to where I belong
High up on the mountain
Closer to her light
