The last time we met
I learned your soul,
saw it bare and pure
and beautiful
The years we spend
from the day you called me yours
are imprinted by our entwining paths,
trails our love carved
wound through a forest
on the mountain in our faraway land,
a land we discovered
created
tended
on the night of our first kiss
Our fated, fearless journey
when you delicately, passionately
drew me to you
and I became yours
in a shuddering sigh
The last time we met
I gave you my hand
my heart
and you learned my soul,
saw it bare and pure
and beautiful
