My Generation

I am so happy growing within this generation,
Where else can low cut shirts match low self esteem,
Where the only book needed is a Facebook,
Here it is okay to use profound language to express yourself,
And it is even better to use that language to hurt others,
Boys can go around bragging about how many hearts they have broken,
Girls, you go and tell the world about how many guys you have slept with,
In my generation our role-models are orange-uneducated-alcoholics,
And our time is well spent behind a glowing screen,
In fact our lives are behind a glowing screen,
No time to study for a test,
Oh no, no time at all,
But let me just stare at this screen for hours and do absolutely nothing,
Why should we try in school,
College is just a giant party right,
I mean that is how it is in the movies,
And you know guys,
The media is ALWAYS right,
I mean where else would I find out which stars are dating,
And in our generation we don't have flirting,
It is a new hip thing called "talking",
Makes total sense,
I love this generation,
Where else one be so senseless and it is considered totally normal?
