A Cloud of Music Notes MAG
White, puffed tutus, hair gently braided
into a bun,
and white laced-up shoes softly carrying
little girl's feet.
I hear the faint music of a piano playing,
softly in the background, practicing.
The girls all line up in a row,
ready to be taken away from the rhyme of the music,
dancing ever-so-smoothly,
as if floating away from the world and
on a cloud of music notes.
In the background, softly in your ear,
the teacher saying “1, 2, 3.” as you point your toes and perform a plié.
Soon, I am taken to a stage, in front of a crowd, cheering.
My feet move to the music and the rest
of the girls follow along.
I dance, turn, and come into “The Gateway,”
as I drift off onto a cloud of music notes.
