Those days I spend
Cattails brushing my legs
Wading through shallow water
Dragonfly wings
Shimmer in the sun
Deep throaty croaks
Erupt from bullfrogs
Those days I spend
Staring
At the swirling sand
At fish,
Silently darting
Scales gleaming,
Like the silver armor of a knight
On those days I spend,
I know
This is the place
Where
I can lose myself
And be one
With the pond
