Only The Blind Can See
Some say I'm a peacemaker, heartbreaker, lifetaker.
But a monster's the name I've taken through the days.
If I stay, I endanger all I could be.
'Cause here, only the blind can see.
Am I dead yet? No? Well, I will be soon.
Everything to lose, like in the last World War.
What's in store? Why ya asking me? You think that I know?
Man, I only do what I'm told.
'Cause I'm a good, obedient soldier, and I'm not gonna question the lies they shovel down my throat.
I'm knee-deep in the drop zone. I wanna go home, but that's a vacant wish.
Reminiscent. How much I miss those days.
Attempt to treat the pain.
Try to stitch the wound.
Try to whitewash images, obscene.
Unseen through the eyes of bullethole-lies.
Can't you see? There ain't no stopping.
I'm a lean, mean war machine.
'Cause I'm a good, obedient soldier, and I'll willingly swallow the lies they shovel down my throat.
I'm fighting so I don't die, bloodlust, hardline, can't cry, see the sky crumble with my sight.
Living on the life-line, death dance, sky high, not right, contrite thoughts arrive tonight.
Where'd it go?
The life I knew before?
The life I can't get back?
The life before the glass cracked?
Shattered the backbone of my mind.
And we all dread that time.
The time when all the light fades to black.
When did the glass crack?
Though I've been scattered and been spattered, it doesn't matter when it shattered. Why?
'Cause I'm a good, obedient soldier, and I'll wash down deceit with a brompton cocktail.
Don't look back, or your sorrow will swallow your soul.
Why should it matter when it shattered? I know I'm not going home, I'm just going away.
