words stream from your fingers
fall onto the screen
pixels form and reform themselves just for you
you're flying at a speed so fast it's
too much effort to even press caps lock
the message is gone
it's in their inbox
you can't ever get it back
no matter how much you might want to
and / but / although
you're not entirely sure you regret it
the words aren't harsh …
but they have so much meaning
it might kill you if their ever-increasing density,
their growing significance,
sinks them. then
a part of you resists the urge to print them out
to post them everywhere, for everyone
you shouldn't, though,
because they're meant for just the one.
now that it's said and done:
you can sleep tonight.
