you were always there for me
always loved me
even when I loved others
you never swayed
and now you’re gone
never to return
gone forever
and all I have of you is letters
so full of love and caring
how I love the words written there
you promised your love to me
trusted your heart in my hand
there it will stay forever
you asked me not to hurt myself
with simple words before you left
I try so hard to dry my eyes
and keep my promise to your word
