Summer Long Island
During the time of jazz
The silver tongued serpent
Slide from West to East
Passing the tongue of gossip
That floats around
Through the aisles and halls of the
Adoring fans of Gatsby
Drinking,smoking, getting wasted
One hand a daughter
A champagne on the other
That slithering snake
Can’t you see?
What it can...
Can make you believe?
It’s venom passes
Through your veins it passes
In that cream colored car
Turning you into a monster
Which feasts on other’s pain
Leaving it’s evil backbone within you
That reckless spirit
Of the silver tongue serpent
