Feet dangle inches above
Tantalizingly taunting …
They strive to graze the bicycle’s pedals,
Just as my hands strive to emerge
From the lemon yellow dress
You handed down to me.
My slow growth is too far behind
Your quick judgment,
Constantly comparing a hazy reflection
To that black and white photograph
You have framed in the hallway.
Maybe someday the dress will fit.

wow. this is amazing. you kept it short, got your point across in a poetic way, and gave life to a great message that a lot of people can relate to

Aww... I love this poetry! It's just so kind and sweet! Can you check out pics of my little sister that I posted on TeenInk.com? They are pretty cute/funny, not to brag from my sister's side, of course. XD

I really like this poem. I am an older sister to two little brothers and I hope they look up to me as their role model as well. Its a great experience for youngers to look up to their elders and someday may be just like them. Good Job!!!!
