I feel undun
Leaves burning to amber
Flying off their branches
While I remain the same,
Faces flitting past me
Clock-hands spiraling
Days tumbling from the Calendar’s Face
Too fast
My mask remains always present
Heavy with the awareness that no son could
Face the face beneath.
Lonely as the padding of a cat across pavement
Who runs this body?
Who controls this mind?
Won’t you carry me across these barriers of
Empty time?
