The first time in years
that I've seen that smile
on your face.

I realize it's you
by your name
pinned to your picture.

My eyes close
and a picture enters my mind.

Our heads pressed together
my hair hiding my face
as we both look down
at the toy in our hands.

Your sea green eyes sparkle
They stand out like white 'hidden' in black

And now I realize
that I like you again
for the first time
since I've known you

We grew up in a summer haze
