I climbed until blisters bred
Kept climbing
I climbed until my hands bled
Kept climbing
I climbed until handprints said
Who are you?
I climbed until my arms were dead
But by the time I finished they knew

This is a true poem I was inspired to write after I climbed to the top of a boulder and realized my fingerprints were worn away.
