In London Where My Heart Is

I smile across the room
His wrinkled smile, sweet
A gleam in his eyes
As he looks across the street
The pencil in his hand
Shaking but a slight
Making graceful movements
He clings onto it tight
Walking over, he lays it on my lap
Just for me to see
I grin and kiss him on the cheek
Happy to see, that he drew me.

In this place of love,
Where he is mine and I am his,
I am happy to know I am
In London, where my heart is.

Boxes stacked to form a tower
I take a glance to see his eyes
Ocean blue in a soft milky white
I turn away when the baby cries
She looks so fragile, so weak, so fine
As beautiful as a baby can be
I hold her softly in my arms
As his arms encircle me.
A gentle kiss placed on my cheek,
In this garden, there is no weed
A faint “I love you”, A heart that beats
It’s all that I will ever need.

In this place of love,
Where he is mine and I am his,
I am happy to know I am
In London, where my heart is.

He glances up
His eyes are puddles
Sweet and kindness
Does he have any troubles?
He is an artist,
Painting love with soul
They say he’s a waste
But i’ll still take the toll
He smiles up at me,
It feels like I am flying
He always makes me laugh,
Even when i’m dying.

In this place of love,
Where he is mine and I am his,
I am happy to know I am
In London, where my heart is.

I glance across the street,
The boy from days before
Sitting on the porch again
Beside the wooden door.
He sits and watches
Day by day
Drawing things
From June to May
I wonder, I wonder
What is his name?
Soon it may be
My heart he will claim.

In this place of love,
Where he is mine and I am his,
I am happy to know I am
In London, where my heart is.
