Fall's Five Senses

Fall tastes like turkey
and honey ham
like apple cider and pumpkin pie
It tastes like candy corn and chocolate
stored to last the rest of the year

Fall feels like chilly wind
and sticky fingers
like mosquitoes and slimy pumpkin seeds
It feels like cold sidewalks and warm sunshine
while biking along a lonely path

Fall looks like dwindling leaves
and waddling turkeys
like colorful candies and glowing grins
It looks like a lone crow and a dark silhouette
against a shining moon

Fall sounds like laughter
and "Trick-or-Treat"
like crunching leaves and crickets
It sounds like the call of an owl and the last cicadas
singing before winter settles down

Fall smells like apple pie
and rain
like hay and spicy cider
It smells like carmel apples and damp leaves
right after a thunderstorm
