You are my heart

You are my soul

You are the melting pot

From which my life unfolds

You have been my life

My way, and guiding light

And now all of that love

Is folding back and away from sight

I fitfully await

The day in which you cannot stay

When I've had you so long to guide my way

I fitfully await that day.

Short, but I couldn't stand to write a long one about this topic. It goes almost hand in hand with the poems Senior, Collegiate, and Mint. This poem speaks of our aging and in a way a circle of life.

I know someone who's father just recently died, and it inspired me to write this. It's best to enjoy our loved ones while they're still here with us.
