My own mind is screaming at me
My conscience won’t respond
God is not answering
What the hell is wrong?

The light is burning too bright
Memories show no mercy
Images throw themselves at me
Where are my feet?

Shadows distorted on the wall
Confuse me, make me fall
Flower pedals shed to the ground
They follow me into the abyss
Gone without a sound

A tattoo floats off the skin
My skull is being crushed in
I’m being kicked by spiked boots
How low will I stoop?

The sea is dark
The water rough
My body goes limp
I've had enough

The author's comments:
For the longest time, no matter how hard I tried to figure it out, I could not for the life of me figure out a title for this piece. This piece means a whole lot to me, and I feel as though no title is worthy. Nevertheless, I must choose one, so I shall name it after my favorite line. Hope you enjoy.
