More To Give

I've heard my fair share of the truth,
and my fair share of lies,
But to my demise,
I can't tell which is better.
The obvious would choose the truth,
and protest that youth
Is wasted on an illusion waiting to crumble,
But what if I'm more humble
Than someone who believes they deserve time,
Someone who believes that life is never kind
Either way,
So why not await that dark day
When the truth shines so bright
That its light
Sets the lies to fire -
A beauty of which I do admire,
But the lies were still
An image to look back on with a will
To live
That there may still
Be more to give.
