Once upon a time I awoke in a dream
And in that dream there were many good things
Good things that were real to me
But that could never be in the world we live in now.

In my dream there was love and peace and harmony
All together in the world
Everyone was kind and considerate and really cared
But that can never be in the world we live in now.

In my dream there were no loud noises or honking cars
But instead a calm peaceful way of life
Everyone could think and concentrate and ponder on what life is really about
But that can never be in the world we live in now.

In my dream we all had imagination
Where we could create worlds without number and have powers without end
We wouldn’t have to grow up and we could always be ourselves
But that can never be in the world we live in now.

But someday, someday
My dream will come true
And I won’t have to go to sleep to live it
But for now I’ll wait and go on dreaming in the world we live in now.
