Ceiling Stars

Make a wish on ceiling stars
Hidden out of sight
But neon rejects my whispers
In the middle of the night.

It’s not that I am lonely
I’ll deny with all my might
I just need someone listening
In the middle of the night.

When I cross you in the morning
You won’t see my eyes alight
Cause you don’t hear my pleading
In the middle of the night.

But I hope that I might call
When monsters take a bite
And you can ease my mind
In the middle of the night.
