the world

I wish I could forget the world
The way it spins, the way it twirls.
Wake up on some mystical beach.
Where problems of today never do reach,
I would probably go swimming with a mermaid or two
Meet a prince and sail beyond the blue.
Sometimes I might miss my mum, miss my dad
But they are luxuries you can never have.
My prince would be handsome rich and kind
And he would be mine, just mine.
Everyone would be friends in my magic town
Everyone would smile never any frowns.
If people asked me where I came from
I would tell them as I walked along.
A place with love, hurt and despair
A place where sometimes everyone forgot how to care,
But there was Christmas, Easter and joy
There were new born babies, girls and boys.
I had a family there I did
They were lovely and warm I do admit.
And when at night I closed my eyes
I would forget the beautiful world and all its lies.
Wake up on some mystical beach
Where problems of that world never do reach,
I would probably go swimming with a mermaid or two
Meet a prince and sail beyond the blue.
